Horses of the Dawn: Escape

Run wild, run free. Can one young horse lead a herd across thousands of miles, through jungle and desert, facing down predators and greedy men?

A horse is born in the middle of the wide ocean, on a galleon sailed to the New World by men seeking gold. Estrella is born to run, but she’s kept in a sling and her hooves can’t touch the ground. She’s born for the land, but all she knows is the rocking of the sea. She’s born to be free, but she and her mother are owned.

Then the men decide that the weight of the horses is slowing their ship. They throw the weakest and the oldest into the water. The horses believe they are doomed, but over the salt air Estrella picks up the scent of a land almost forgotten. A wild land of sweet grass, where they can live free. Can one young horse lead a herd across thousands of miles, through jungle and desert, facing down predators and greedy men?

This is the story of a horse born with a destiny. This is the story of the rise of the horses of the dawn.
